Almost ready ...

Wow, a lot has happened since our last blog. The boat came out of the water in November and we both worked our butts off (unfortunately only metaphorically speaking)!

The hull was antifouled, and it was discovered after 2 coats that the wrong product was being used around the drive shaft, so a day was lost in scraping it back so we could paint with the right antifoul (Jeff learnt the painful way that it is worth investing in a decent scraper).

The manual bilge pump was replaced, we did a repaint of the black strips hullside, Tania handpainted 'Catana' in three locations, the hull was polished, stainless polished, saloon table relaminated, and we removed the link to Canada (Vancouver BC) and replaced with QLD.

Purchases include: grab-bag, Cat1 Medical Kit, spares, BBQ, MOB-i-lert (thanks Ma&Pa Delgado), Aussie and NZ flags, drogue...

Once the boat was back in the water, we swung the boat to produce a deviation card, squabs were recovered, portside quarterberth squabs made and covered, galley benchtop relaminated (and looking GOOD!), stern seating attached, Q flag sewn and rubbing rail has been repaired.

A Cat 1 inspection has been carried out and additional work/purchases identified. These have all been accomplished, and subsequent inspection proved the vessel to be Cat1 qualified - YAY!
Special thanks go to Roger and Joe who have put in lots of elbow grease/time away from home to help out.

Tania is currently making tiller, winch and BBQ covers for the cockpit, and curtains for the boys berths (the girly touch).

All in all the boat is looking pretty spiffy, and the countdown is well and truly on - currently at 22 days!
