Yahoo - we finally got out on the water over the long weekend! Our last sail was in September last year so it took a while for our sea legs to come out of hiding, but we had a great time.
The best part was introducing the pooch to sailing and she looked SO cute in her little lifejacket! She was great the first day, probably because we had to motor the whole way due to no wind, but the sail back didn't bode so well. We only had a light breeze on the nose initially but it was enough to get a lean on and that in combination with the lollies the boys had fed her (hmmm, not a smart move) resulted in an upset belly. However, she thoroughly enjoyed being top deck with the wind in her fur and has mastered the art of climbing the stairs from the cabin to the cockpit, no mean feat for such a little pooch. She has always loved the beach so enjoyed playing at Horseshoe Bay and I imagine she thought it quite a treat to sleep inside with us at night.
Jack and Harrison very quickly got back into the swing of things and had fun remembering the good times from our trip up. They spent the best part of Sunday playing games on the beach with Daddy, getting towed behind the dingy and finished it off with a sunset bonfire on the beach whilst eating chips. When they got back to Catana (where I was enjoying some 'girly' time, sigh) they were most excited by the fact that all 3 of them peed on the fire to help put it out - BOYS!
We had some more problems with the motor on our return trip and Jeff thinks it may be the heat exchanger AGAIN :-( Fingers crossed it doesn't cost as much to fix this time (famous last words aye!).
