I can't believe it, the motor is finally fixed!!! It certainly took a long time (and more money than we care to think too much about) but the new part for the heat exchanger has arrived. Jeff spent a few hours putting the engine back together and it now runs beautifully. Touch wood (yep, I really am) there will be no more engine dramas for the foreseeable future.
We have a long weekend coming up and after attending the Boat Show are Airlie Beach we plan to have a quick sail over to Magnetic Island and anchor up in Horseshoe Bay for the night. It will not only be our first trip for quite some time, but also the first sail for our pooch Ruby. Unfortunately Scooby the rescue dog didn't last long with us as it turns out he really didn't like kids. After biting Harry and constantly snapping at both our boys and visiting children we decided that he was better suited to a kiddie-free family. It was a REALLY hard decision to make but we do think it was the best for all concerned. So it looks like Ruby is going to have to experience her first sail with just her human companions but I'm sure she'll have a great time.
Over and out ...
Tania
