1 May

Great start to the sail to Lady Musgrave Island with a beam reach in 15-20kt breeze, and screaming along at 7 knots. Unfortunately as we got closer to some nasty clouds the squalls kicked in, the rain pelted down, the wind backed to east and we ended up bashing into it for the rest of the day.
We followed a Riviera through the gap in the reef and sure are glad we did as the starboard marker was at least 10m inshore of the reef … think they need to move that one! However, it was an absolutely divine spot and we spent the next 3 nights anchored in the lagoon, spending our days checking out the island, snorkelling amongst the coral, and the boys had a wonderful time learning about all the different creatures. Jack
eventually plucked up the courage to hold a starfish, and they were both fascinated to see a clam squirt water. We saw a sea snake, loads of sea cucumbers (Jack calls them capsicums!!), stingrays, lots of funky fish, and Jack had a great time snapping away with his water camera gifted to him by his Nana and Grandad (thanks guys!). Naturally we had plenty of ‘sunset parties’, and we have officially fallen in love with Lady Musgrave. A definite must-do-again!
Over and out ...
