5 - 7 May

5 May

Motor sailed to Cape Capricorn in very light winds 5-10kts SE. Passed through approx 15 large ships waiting to go into Gladstone Port. Spent a rolly, uncomfortable, sleepless night at anchor but it feels good to have crossed the Tropic of Capricorn under sail … we are officially in the tropics!!!

6 -7 May

Had a sleep in and a lazy motor for the short distance to Hummocky Island. Our first island stop in Keppel National Park. It is a gorgeous spot and initially we had a very secluded beach all to ourselves. Jeff had grand plans to get pics of the three boys walking naked along the beach (rear view of course), but unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on which way you look at it!) we were soon joined by two trailer-sailers and 3 fishing runabouts, so it didn’t happen. I offered to still take the pic, but I don’t think the other visitors would have appreciated it!

Over and out ...
