14 May

Motored through thick coral spore to West Bay on Middle Percy Island. They bay is thoroughly deserving of its reputation as a beautiful but rolly place to stop. The old telephone shack and A-frame held thousands of memorabilia from vessels that visited – the oldest we saw was 1955. We added our own piece, being a broken lamp with our details on it. It will be fun to see it again another time whilst cruising around these parts in our superyacht (dreams are for free!). Good sociable evening ashore with Henry and Denise from Adrift (we shared an anchorage with them at Hexham Island also) and Derek and Leslie from Moongazer.

Jeff spent a night ashore with Jack in a tent, and as much as Jack thought it very exciting, the reality of sleep in a tent with no bottom and sand everywhere was not so great. To add insult to injury he discovered just how loud Daddy’s snoring really is (I could have told him that!!).The pic here shows just what a happy chappy he was. Suddenly his little quarter berth seems very luxurious! Nothing like a little perspective aye?!

Over and out…
Tania
