And they are off ...

It is hard to believe the time has finally come, but here we are, the 12th January 2008, and Catana and crew have set sail.

There was a lovely send off at Chaffers Marina, with friends and family farewelling Jeff, Kit, Joe and Roger at some ungodly hour. Jeff was well and trully champing at the bit to slip the mooring lines, but of course we all wanted the obligatory photo's (these will be uploaded soon)! However he did set out at his planned time of 0600hrs, and very quickly had the mainsail raised, and was on his way.

It was an absolutely stunning morning, and Wellington really turned it on for our final goodbye. The sun was shining, the wind at about 20 knots, and the seas calm ... fingers crossed for a contination of these conditions.

As yet there has been no Sitrep from Catana (grrr), so we might need to wait a little longer to find out who fed the fish first!
