I had such a wonderful wake-up call this morning ... it was Jeff to say that he had hired a car and he would see me in 2 hrs ... so we got to spend the day together and it was just awesome, and much needed!!!! He is now on his way back to Whitianga to meet up with Joe, and tomorrow morning they plan to commence their sail to Opua. Of course this is all weather dependant, so who knows really!
The waiting around in Whitianga is naturally quite fustrating for the guys, but they seem to be in fine spirits considering. Hopefully they can find some crew ASAP in Opua and then, weather permitting, Joe will be able to complete the trip also. It would be such a shame if he ran out of time to complete the trans-Tasman trip after all the time and effort he has put into preparing the boat with us, but I guess 'what will be, will be'.
Fingers crossed I will have some com's from Catana the day after tomorrow to say they have arrived in Opua.
