(Off Gisborne, heading towards East Cape)
We all feel better after a good sleep and some food. We have had some light head winds for 24 hours which has put us behind schedule by about 5-6 hours but we expect to make up ground as soon as we round East Cape and get the forecast tail winds. The winds have strengthened a little over the last few hours requiring us to start tacking and beating our way up the coast. Whilst this means we are heeled quite a lot it is pretty comfortable sailing. We put up the no 2 genoa (bigger head sail) today so that we could work the light winds better. We expect the winds to moderate and back around soon so we'll be ready when they do. Apart from that, there's not much else to report. Everyone is fit and healthy, the boat is working well and we are into the routine of sailing.
